merry and bright

Merry Christmas!

I love Christmas, even though it gets hectic and stressful at times. It's still the most wonderful time of the year (I amuse myself with my own puns), although it would be even better if it actually were winter here in Colombia. It was like 80 something degrees yesterday. Not very christmasy. Yesterday we held a christmas party at my house (the first one we've held in years) and we had a really nice time. Here's what I wore:

My room's super messy as everything usually is during the holidays...

Here's some of the snacks we served before the actual dinner. These are some typical Colombian christmas foods, such as buñuelos, arequipe and hojaldras.

These are called buñuelos and they are so good.

Top from Urban Outfitters
Skirt from Zara
Heels from Sacks 5th Avenue

I think it's the first time I don't wear red for christmas, but I just had to wear this skirt. I love anything sparkly.

One year ago, I was in Orlando with my family. I keep remembering that trip and feeling all nostalgic about it. But I mean, it's not christmas is you're not feeling somewhat sad and stressed out about the homework you should be doing. I've actually been to Orlando the past two christmases so it's weird not to be there right now.

Christmas 2013:
At Animal Kingdom.
Christmas 2014:

This is actually at the hotel but we went to Universal Studios that day.

Unfortunately, I didn't wear a Santa hat this year.

Thanks for reading! I hope y'all have a wonderful christmas! My plan is watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas and drinking tea.

"thanksgiving"

Happy December! I just finished applying to two of my top choice universities and I'm exhausted... and I still have to apply to another one by December 10th. Even though I'm excited about going to college, I've been feeling nostalgic lately. No too nostalgic, but basically I have been thinking about being in 10th grade two years ago. I just keep replaying scenes from when I was in 10th grade for some reason. This weekend I was also thinking about my life exactly on year ago... how I became obsessed with playing with my DS for only a week, and how I invited my friend to my first ever thanksgiving dinner and she said she couldn't go because she "she had to study." Yup. That was the beginning of a beautiful breakup. This year I was invited to a thanksgiving dinner and I also held one myself. I should say "Thanksgiving" dinner, because we're Colombian so we don't actually celebrate thanksgiving... we just want to eat turkey.

This is what I wore for this "Thanksgiving" dinner party I went to. I never seem to have time to take pictures before leaving the house, so I always end up taking them at like 1 am, and I look extremely tired. I actually got home from the event, lied down in my bad for like half an hour until I gathered the willpower to stand up and take pictures.

What I'm wearing:
Dress from Anthropologie
Shoes from Stuart Weitzman
Bag from Zara

I don't know if you can tell but I'm wearing this really cool flower ring I got from a flea market a while back. I haven't been to one in over a year and I kinda want to right now. Do you guys like flea markets? I think they can be pretty cool sometimes, but others they're terribly boring and uncomfortable.

I love this dress so much!!!! The details are so delicate and beautiful. The shoes are also absolutely gorgeous and comfy... I have nothing to complain about. I love how the color of the dress allowed me to subtly mix both silver and gold details and it still looked very nice. The bag is really pretty too but the quality isn't the best. It's already falling apart and I've worn it twice! I just love this outfit way too much.

Thanks a lot for reading!
