Spring break: casual outfit

Hey everyone!

It's finally spring break! Even though I have tons of homework to do, I'm pretty excited about not having to go to school.

This is the outfit I wore today to go out for lunch and ice cream. It's funny how I used to hate ice cream, but now I'm gradually starting to tolerate it. ONLY vanilla ice cream, though. I actually ordered vanilla ice cream and a shot of expresso to mix them together. I can never not get coffee.

This is a simple casual outfit, but, you know, sometimes I just feel like wearing shorts and a shirt. And, yes, I'm guilty of owning the "Ok, but first coffee" shirt from Brandy Melville. It's so accurate though.

I also wore these New Balance shoes, which I am obsessed with.

flowers and birds

Hey everyone!

Yesterday I went to something that wasn't a party, but let me just call it a very small party, because I have no idea what it's called and I gotta call it something. Anyway, this is what I wore:

Dress by Ted Baker
Bag by Kate Spade
Heels by Miu Miu

My boyfriend took these pictures after the thing. It was really late and I wasn't really feeling my face.

Thank you guys for my first 103 followers! I know it might not seem like much but I really appreciate it!

spring inspiration

Hey guys!

It's been a while since my last inspiration post. I tend to feel more inspired for fall and winter than spring and summer. I don't know why but the fall/winter vibes fit my personality and mood better. Anyway, I found a National Geographic Tumblr page full of stunning vintage photographs, many of which had a spring vibe (at least to me they do), so that's basically why I decided to make this post.

making chocolate covered cookie dough truffles!

Happy Saturday!

Yesterday, I found this cookie dough truffle recipe on The Sunday Chapter while browsing through bloglovin. I had a mini heart attack when I read "cookie dough truffles" because I'm addicted to them.  Every time I go to Godiva I order either three cookie dough truffles, or two cookie dough truffles and a birthday cake truffle. Unfortunately (or fortunately...) we don't have Godiva in my country, so I never get to have cookie dough truffles unless I travel. I'm so excited I'm finally going to be able to make them!

I invited my boyfriend to make the truffles with me. Here's the thing, last time I baked I invited some friends over and they happened to know how to bake cupcakes. This time, none of us had any idea what we were doing. You would think it is almost imposible to screw up making something as simple as this, but we managed to do it. The truffles still tasted great, they just didn't look that nice.

The ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2-3 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for dipping)

We didn't use semi-sweet chocolate chips though, we just used regular ones.

Here we mixed in the butter, brown sugar and vanilla. It looks pretty nasty at this point, but don't worry.

When you add the cup of flour it starts looking nicer (and it tastes so good).

Then we added the cup of chocolate chips. Honestly, I think one cup of chocolate chips was way too much. Next time I would rather add half a cup or less. And yes, I could not get myself to stop eating the mix!

The mix turned out pretty dry, so we added a little bit of milk before we started making the little balls.

By the way, my dress is from Anthropologie. I like wearing dresses when I cook because it makes me feel like I'm 20 years old and I'm at one of those parties where adults cook dinner with their friends. Does that make sense? I don't know.

Heres is where we screwed up: we microwaved the chocolate for way to long, so instead of melting it became something like a dry brownie-looking substance. It tastes the same though, but that's why there are some nice looking truffles and some not-so-nice looking ones.

The finished product:

Have a nice weekend!

red velvet

Today was my grandma's birthday and we planned a surprise party for her. Here's what I wore to the party:

This is my grandma and her sister.

Dress from Antrhopologie

The dress is not really velvet, sorry if I created false expectations with the title.

I am in love with this dress though! I love the color and the embroidered details so much. It's just perfect. By the way, is everyone who works in Anthropologie like extremely nice or what? My experiences in that store have always been amazing because everybody is super nice to me.

This was a short post, but I hope you guys liked it and maybe got some sort of outfit inspiration for an upcoming event. This reminds me that I wanted to ask you to tell me what you would like to see more of in this blog. Please tell me if you would like to see more outfit posts, or photography posts or anything your heart desires.
